I had this card for several weeks and could not be happier. This is the first high-end offering, I bought from either of the two largest graphics companies, and it happens to be inexpensive.
In addition, good price, I was happy overall with the extreme performance of this card too. It is handling just about everything I could throw at him, including the kitchen sink and all of the North Pole to South Pole.
Although the fan is very quiet, very quiet. And when she cries, it's very loud. I noticed there was barely audible if at all, and to 30 percent, very quiet at 40 percent.
from the time you hit 60 percent fan speed tends to be in the range of what most people would consider acceptable. As you hit 70 to 80 percent which is extremely loud.
, but I was a tendency to leave the fan on auto and rarely reach such high levels when playing the game. Only while messing around with manual fan configuration.
, but if you plan to over clock and produces much more heat can not be surprised if the fan noise will become quite unacceptable.
Although it tends to be slower than 4890, I feel 4870 is about the sweet spot of bang for your buck segment. We all would well advised to make extra money from 4890 and to push aside for the purchase of a secondary 4870 for Crossfire mode down the road.
When we started to have games that use this type of computing performance, an additional 4870 would be wonderful. For now, 4870 gives an outstanding performance at extremely good bang for your buck ratio.
